文化創造館は開館以来、多様な分野のクリエイターを招き、市民と共に創造力を刺激する実験的な活動を実施しています。
今回、公募により国内外306件の応募の中から選ばれたのは、インドネシア出身のアーティスト、ラクミ・フィトリアニ（Rakhmi Fitriani）さん。9月1日から秋田市に滞在し、ワークショップやリサーチを行ってきました。この度、当館にてその成果発表を行います。
フィトリアニさんが提案した「風景のタペストリー」は、初めて出会う人々が自身の経験や記憶を語り合い、みんなで縫い合わせることで「風景の物語」を作品として織り成すプロジェクトです。
これまで創造館での全６回のワークショップや来館者との交流を通じて秋田各所にまつわる「風景の記憶」の物語を集めてきました。その数はおよそ50箇所に上ります。滞在期間の後半は、フィトリアニさんが実際に参加者からお聞きした場所への旅を繰り返し、秋田の風景を自分の身体で深く実感しようと試みてきました。
みなさんからお寄せ頂いた「風景の記憶」はこちらからご覧いただけます。
現在は成果発表のために、市民の方々からいただいたたくさんの「布」や旅の中で見つけた風景の色やかたち、印象といった、様々なものを組み合わせて、市民の方々と共に新しい作品を作り出そうとしています。彼女のプロジェクトは、目の前の風景に隠された様々な物語を想像するきっかけを私たちに示しています。
今回の成果発表では、私たちを形づくってきた風景について語りあう場や、共に制作してきた作品が展覧される予定です。また、今回の滞在についてお伺いするアーティストトークも実施します。いずれもフィトリアニさんのまなざしを深く知る貴重な機会となります。

プロフィール / Profile
佐々木蓉子
弘前れんが倉庫美術館アシスタント・キュレーター。1994年北海道札幌市生まれ。2020年北海道大学文学研究科（芸術学）修了。2020年から弘前れんが倉庫美術館に勤務し、地域に開かれた美術館のあり方に関心を持ちながら展覧会企画、コレクション管理に携わる。開催中の展覧会「ニュー・ユートピア——わたしたちがつくる新しい生態系」（会期：2025年4月4日-11月16日）では、津軽地方の「こぎん刺し」資料の展示などを担当。

開催までの期間、館内各所にて公開制作を実施します。どなたでも作品の制作過程をご覧いただけます。また、実際に作品制作にご協力いただけるサポーターを随時募集します。

Exhibition: Creator in Residence 2025 ”TAPESTRY OF LANDSCAPE” Rakhmi Fitriani
▶︎Introduction
Since its opening, the Akita City Cultural Creation Center has invited creators from diverse fields and carried out experimental activities to inspire creativity together with citizens. From a total of 306 applications received from Japan and abroad, Indonesian artist Rakhmi Fitriani was selected for this year’s residency. She has been staying in Akita City since September 1, engaging in workshops and research. We are now pleased to present the results of her residency in this exhibition.
Fitriani’s proposed project, Tapestry of Landscapes, is a collective art-making process in which people who meet for the first time share their personal experiences and memories, and then stitch them together into a woven “landscape story.”
Through six workshops held at the Cultural Creation Center and exchanges with visitors, she has collected stories of “landscape memories” related to about 50 different locations in Akita. In the latter half of her stay, she repeatedly visited the sites mentioned by participants, seeking to embody and deeply experience Akita’s landscapes through her own body.
For the presentation, Fitriani is creating new works in collaboration with local volunteers by combining the fabrics contributed by citizens with colors, shapes, and impressions of landscapes she encountered during her travels. Her project offers us opportunities to imagine the hidden stories embedded in the landscapes around us. At this exhibition, visitors will find both a space for sharing stories about the landscapes that have shaped us and artworks created collectively. In addition, a talk event will be held with a guest speaker to hear directly from the artist about her residency. This will be a rare opportunity to gain deeper insight into Fitriani’s perspectives. Rakhmi Fitriani will discuss the background of the works she created during her stay in Akita, the encounters she experienced, and more. The talk will be moderated by Yoko Sasaki from the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art.
Profile
Yoko Sasaki
Assistant Curator at the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art. Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 1994.
Completed her M.A. in Aesthetics/Art Studies at Hokkaido University in 2020.
Since joining the museum in 2020, she has been involved in exhibition planning and collection management, with an interest in how museums can engage with their local communities. For the ongoing exhibition New Utopia: The New Ecosystem We Create (April 4 – November 16, 2025), she is responsible for displaying kogin-sashi embroidery materials from the Tsugaru region.
Interpretation in Japanese will be provided.

Leading up to the exhibition, open studio sessions will be held at various locations within the Center. Visitors are welcome to observe the creative process at any time.
We are also seeking volunteers who would like to support the actual making of the artwork.
